BBQ Pit Stop: Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Welcome to BBQ Pit Stop! This page contains both our Privacy Policy and our End User License Agreement ("Terms of Use", "EULA"). These terms govern your use of the BBQ Pit Stop mobile application for iOS and Android (the "App"), provided by BBQ PIT STOP LLC ("we", "us", "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by everything on this page. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
PART 1: PRIVACY POLICY
At BBQ Pit Stop, we care about your privacy just as much as we care about good barbecue. This section explains how the App handles your data.
1. We Do Not Collect Your Personal Data
The App does not collect, transmit, distribute, or sell your personal data to BBQ Pit Stop or any third parties. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not use tracking software or analytics SDKs to monitor your app usage.
2. Local Storage and Cloud Syncing
Any data you generate while using the App—including your Custom Recipes, Meat Calculator preferences, Secret Game high scores, and unlocked Coupon Codes—is saved locally on your device.

For iOS Users: To provide a seamless experience if you switch devices, this data is securely synced using your personal Apple iCloud account (via Apple’s
NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore). BBQ Pit Stop developers do not have access to this iCloud data; it is completely private to you and governed by Apple’s privacy and security protocols. -
For Android Users: All app data is saved strictly to your device's local storage. We do not transmit or back up this data to external servers.
3. Push Notifications
The App asks for permission to send you Notifications. This feature is used strictly for the BBQ Timer to alert you when your cook is done. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use remote push notifications, nor do we send you promotional spam through this system.
4. External Links
The App contains links to our official website, YouTube channel, and map applications to help you find our retail locations. Tapping these links will take you outside the App, at which point the privacy policies of those respective services (such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, or YouTube) will apply.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we add new features in the future that require us to collect data, we will update this Privacy Policy and prompt you within the App for your explicit consent before collecting anything.
PART 2: TERMS OF USE (EULA)
1. License Grant
BBQ PIT STOP LLC grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, and use the App strictly in accordance with the terms of this Agreement for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
2. Disclaimer of Warranties (The "Ruined Brisket" Clause)
The App provides tools, calculators, timers, and internal temperature guides for informational and educational purposes only.

Calculators & Timers: The Meat Calculator and BBQ Timers are estimates based on standard averages. Actual cook times, yields, and raw weight requirements will vary based on variables outside our control (e.g., weather, grill type, meat trim, fat content).

Food Safety: The internal temperatures provided are general guidelines. You are solely responsible for ensuring your food is cooked to safe consumption temperatures as recommended by the USDA or your local health authority.

No Liability: BBQ PIT STOP LLC is not responsible or liable for any undercooked food, foodborne illness, ruined cooks, or inadequate food supplies for your events resulting from the use of this App. The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.
3. "Ask a Pitmaster" SMS Feature
The App includes an "Ask a Pitmaster" feature that allows you to draft a text message (SMS) to our team. By using this feature, you understand and agree that:

The App merely drafts the message in your device’s native SMS application; it does not send the message automatically.

Standard text messaging and data rates applied by your mobile carrier are entirely your responsibility.

We strive to provide helpful advice, but BBQ PIT STOP LLC makes no guarantees regarding response times or the accuracy of the advice provided.
4. User Restrictions
You agree not to, and you will not permit others to:

License, sell, rent, lease, assign, distribute, transmit, host, outsource, disclose, or otherwise commercially exploit the App.

Copy, modify, make derivative works of, disassemble, decrypt, reverse compile, or reverse engineer any part of the App (including the Secret Game, calculators, and recipe databases).

Use the App for any purpose that is illegal or prohibited by this Agreement.
5. Platform-Specific Terms (Apple & Google)
Since you are downloading the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the following terms apply:

Apple/Google are not responsible: You acknowledge that this EULA is between you and BBQ PIT STOP LLC, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. We are solely responsible for the App and its content.

No Maintenance Obligation: Apple and Google have no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.

Third-Party Beneficiary: You acknowledge and agree that Apple and Google (and their subsidiaries) are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA, and that upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple and Google will have the right to enforce this EULA against you.
6. Limitation of Liability
Notwithstanding any damages that you might incur, the entire liability of BBQ PIT STOP LLC and any of its suppliers under any provision of this Agreement and your exclusive remedy for all of the foregoing shall be limited to the amount actually paid by you for the App (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall BBQ PIT STOP LLC be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever.
